Goodness means staying mindful and keeping my appreciation for the blessings /best people in my life in the forefront of my mind every single day.
What does goodness mean to you?
Goodness means staying mindful and keeping my appreciation for the blessings /best people in my life in the forefront of my mind every single day. Goodness also means exuding positive, uplifting energy when interacting with others.
Where do you find goodness?
I find goodness in the different hobbies/ creativity that I explored throughout my life. From when I was a child, I always had a hobby/ mini business that I was obsessed with, whether it was writing, scrapbooking/mixed media, photography, photoshop, aromatherapy, any passion that allowed me to explore the depths of the topic, and grow through it. The hobby always allowed me to take a break from any challenge that I was dealing with and return to the challenge with a fresh perspective. Instead of living and breathing the negative energy of my challenge, I was able to live and breathe the positive and fun energy of my hobby and return to my challenge with a fresh, positive perspective.
Another area I find goodness is in the ongoing challenge of searching for hidden opportunities to be mindful and connect to the seemingly mundane, and inconvenient moments in our lives. For example, I can choose to focus on the annoying aspects of going to the DR. with my child, like looking for parking, sitting in the waiting room surrounded by cranky children, the traffic; all thoughts that create distracted energy. Or, I can catch myself, pause, breathe, and realize that right now, I can have a have a focused conversation with my child without interruption, distract him from his pain, be an example of a mom who is nurturing and totally available for him, and maybe go for a treat afterwards. The rewards of choosing differently moment to moment and connecting are priceless.

What do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy creating images. First, in camera, then completing my vision with post processing in photoshop . I love organizing my family’s digital photo library, creating storytelling layouts within digital photobooks. I just discovered a new love for aromatherapy, learning about the healing properties of different essential oils. I adore taking online classes on self empowerment, photography, parenting, and putting my new skills to practice. I love reading, traveling the world, spending time with my family and dear friends, experiencing aha moments that give me a fresh perspective on life, and digesting newfound wisdom.

Who is someone who brings goodness into your life? What do they do / how do they do it?
Connecting with my individual family members and dearest friends brings goodness in my life in the many varying ways they enhance my life with their own unique strengths and perspectives. I am especially close with my Tita (grandmother) who’s unique strengths lie in a combination of wisdom, authentic positivity, old fashioned values, mixed with the right amount of open mindedness, and non- judgemental advice and perspective that is right on the mark. I want to be like her when I grow up, and see the world through her eyes.
Giving in the simplest of ways stirs up goodness in the giver and receiver.
What are some ways we can become aware of the goodness in our lives?
Surround yourself with positive, happy people. Constantly read and take classes on self-empowerment/positive mindset/ spirituality, to expand your mind. Contribute, to a charity, kind words, or lend an open ear to someone who needs to talk something out. Giving in the simplest of ways stirs up goodness in the giver and receiver.
