Earlier this week, I happened upon the words “You are what you seek” sprayed onto a wood panel outside of a construction sight on Crosby St. in Soho. I then continued to see that message, and again and again, throughout my day....
Who am I? What defines me? What am I made up of? These are questioned that come to mind when I reflect on those words I saw over and over. The way I understand “you are what you seek,” is that what we look out for / “seek” becomes a part of us, and directly effects the ways we go about our days, and our overall life perspective.
Here is a video about some of the goodness I happened upon that same day. I hope in it you find something that speaks to you, that inspires you to start to look for goodness in your life. Like I mention in the video, it doesn’t have to be on the streets, it can be in yourself, in those around you… (see where to look for goodness).
When you “seek” out the goodness in yourself, situations, environments, and people, that becomes part of you – that goodness becomes a part of you! And when you think about goodness like this, a connection between noticing and adding to goodness is instantly formed. By noticing we are already adding to it, as it becomes part of us.
