I walked by this mural today by ASVP Art and it got me thinking about the nature of luck. Sure there are time when it comes into our lives serendipitously, and when we least expect it, but what about all the other times?
How do we, like it says in the mural make our own luck? How do we invite luck into our lives? How do we end up with a greater chance to get lucky?
For my experiences as well as of those of my peers, who have had some encounters with luck, I have found that these three things, when implemented together can bring upon great luck.
The first is working hard. Putting in the work is kind of like putting in the preparations, or living arrangements for luck’s upcoming visit.
The second is persistence. Continuing to work through your doubts, the “no’s” the non believers, the questions, and the concerns. Persistence is saying yes and continuing on no matter what.
The third is believing. Through it all knowing and believing that you are worthy and deserving of luck. In addition to believing in yourself and believing (and trusting) in the process.
So to “make your own luck” you can try the above suggestions and/or share your encounters with luck (and the story behind it) in the comments below…
